KISS frontman Paul Stanley recently appeared on Steve-O’s podcast to discuss the band’s highly anticipated upcoming avatar show. He compared the experience to a “Cirque du Soleil meets ‘Star Wars’ and a KISS concert,” promising a visually stunning and immersive performance.
The cutting-edge technology behind the KISS avatars, originally developed for ABBA’s “Voyage” show, will allow the band to continue touring even in retirement. The avatars were created by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and financed by Pophouse Entertainment, the company behind “ABBA Voyage.”
Stanley expressed his excitement for the show, stating, “What we’ll be doing with these amazing avatars will take us to another place, another level. It’s gonna be amazing.” He described the experience as immersive, with heat, fire, wind, and other special effects.
Regarding the decision to sell KISS’s music catalog and brand to Pophouse, Stanley explained that the company understands the band’s vision and wants to ensure the legacy continues. He added that the deal is a way to keep KISS relevant and ensure the personas live on for generations to come.
The KISS avatars will be visually identical to the original band members, wearing the same costumes and makeup. Pophouse Entertainment is not only providing financial backing for the project but is also actively involved in the creative process, ensuring that the avatars are true to the band’s legacy.
Stanley sees the avatar show as a way for KISS to continue touring and performing for many years to come, even after the original members have retired. While fans have expressed both excitement and skepticism about the project, the overall consensus is that the KISS avatar show promises to be a groundbreaking event that will redefine the live music experience.
