Dimebag Darrell, a shredding legend who left an undeniable mark on Metalheads, lives in our hearts. But a recent eBay listing has me confused. A ticket from his final show with Damageplan in 2004 is up for sale, with an insane price tag of $15,000. We get it, inflation is bad, but come on.
December 8th, 2004, is a date etched in every metalhead’s memory. This isn’t just a ticket, it’s a reminder of the violence that stole Dimebag Darrell, Nathan Bray, Mayhem, and Erin Halk. It’s strange to think this very ticket was part of that night.
The $15,000 price tag is insane, but it does carry a heavy weight. In essence, it is a piece of metal history, even if it’s morbid and dark. I think it should be placed in a place where we can all see it, a music museum maybe.
