Swedish doom metal pioneers Candlemass are hard at work in the studio on a new four-song EP titled “Black Star.” The EP will feature two original songs alongside two covers and is slated for release in the spring of 2025 to commemorate the band’s 40th anniversary.
Drummer Jan Lind recently completed his drum tracks at Sound Trade studios in Solna, and guitarist Lars Johansson is currently adding his guitar overdubs to the project. “Black Star” is expected to arrive in May 2025 via Napalm Records.
Fans of Candlemass can look forward to a fresh dose of heavy doom from one of the genre’s most influential bands.
