Deicide Cancels Tour To Weather Hurricane

Death metal band Deicide has canceled the remaining three shows of their North American tour with Krisiun, Inferi, and Cloak. The band is returning to Florida to protect their families and properties as the state prepares for Hurricane Milton.

In a statement, Deicide said, “Due to the pending landfall of Hurricane Milton on central Florida and the Gulf Coast, we will be leaving the tour after today’s performance in Corpus Christi, Texas, and heading back to Florida. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Houston, New Orleans, and Pensacola will be canceled to allow us time to return to our families and homes.”

Forecasters expect Hurricane Milton to make landfall near Sarasota, Florida, on Wednesday evening. The storm is expected to bring significant storm surge and heavy rainfall to the region. The Tampa Bay region, where Deicide members reside, is still recovering from Hurricane Helene and has not been directly hit by a major hurricane since 1921.

The entire west coast of Florida is under a hurricane warning as the storm approaches. Although scientists expect the storm to weaken slightly before landfall, it remains a serious threat to the state.
