Drowning Pool Set to Drop New Full-Length Album in 2025

In a recent interview with Radioactive MikeZ, host of the 96.7 KCAL-FM program Wired In The Empire, founding Drowning Pool guitarist C.J. Pierce discussed the band’s new single, “Revolution (The Final Amen).” Released late last month via SBG Records, the track marks the first piece of music Pierce, drummer Mike Luce, and bassist Stevie Benton have completed with singer Ryan McCombs in 13 years.

When asked if Drowning Pool immediately began working on new material after McCombs rejoined the group in early 2023, Pierce responded

“He came in, and we started writing before we even talked about doing our first show, man. We hung out here at my place — I’ve got a big gazebo in the backyard, and my house is set up like a Guitar Center. It’s a home studio, really, just a creative space. We jumped right into it. There were one or two riffs and songs we had started right before the hiatus, which I’d love to finish. But after everything we’ve been through over the last 13 years, we’ve got a lot to write about, especially with everything going on in the world today. We’re the kind of band that writes based on what we’re feeling at the moment, and there are a lot of ideas on the table.”

Regarding plans for a new full-length album, C.J. said: “We’re aiming to finish a couple more tracks over the next two weeks before heading out on our next tour. After that, we’ll have a short break at the end of the year, and I want to dive back into the studio to complete even more songs. We’re definitely planning to release a record sometime next year, and that will lead us into the 25th anniversary of Sinner in 2026. It’s crazy to think about, but we’ve got a lot coming up.”
