Erik Rutan Leaves Cannibal Corpse Tour to Address Hurricane Damage

Cannibal Corpse guitarist Erik Rutan has left the band’s European headlining tour to return home to St. Petersburg, Florida, which sustained catastrophic damage from Hurricane Helene. The hurricane barreled through the Southeast on Friday, September 27, causing flooding in Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Tampa Bay area of Florida, particularly St. Petersburg, was hit hard. According to the Tampa Bay Times, St. Petersburg experienced more than six feet of storm surge, and more than 100 miles of flooded roads.

We wish Erik Rutan and his family all the best as they recover from this devastating event.

Several Shore Acres residents say the flooding from Hurricane Helene is the worst they’ve ever seen even though they are used to high water in the area.
