Flotsam And Jetsam ‘Would Love To’ Tour With Nickelback

I would love to do like a — just to get more fans and to see if we can we can turn people around, I’d love to do a Nickelback tour or something. That would be great.”

Eric “a.k.” Knutson of veteran Arizona metallers Flotsam and Jetsam shared his favorite tours from the past 30-40 years. He recalled memorable experiences with bands like King Diamond, Megadeth, Korn, Fear Factory, Overkill, and more.

Knutson particularly enjoyed his tours with King Diamond, noting that they were “amazing” and “a lot of fun.” He also highlighted the multiple worldwide Megadeth tours he’s been on, including one with Korn, Fear Factory, and himself. Additionally, his European tours with Overkill were a blast.

Beyond these specific bands, Knutson expressed fond memories of many mid-career headlining tours. He recalled a particularly memorable night in Louisville, where he and the band had a night off and decided to park behind the Louisville Slugger Factory. While the rest of the band was relaxing, Knutson went for a walk and returned to find the bus filled with 15-20 girls, lights flashing, and music thumping.

When asked about his future touring goals, Knutson expressed a desire to tour with the “big three” of Metallica, Iron Maiden, or Judas Priest. He also emphasized the importance of finding bands with similar styles and fan bases, such as Queensrÿche, Exodus, Death Angel, and Testament. Even more challenging, he expressed interest in touring with bands like Nickelback to attract new fans.

Knutson’s reflections highlight his diverse touring experiences and his ongoing passion for the music industry. He remains open to new opportunities and collaborations with bands that align with his musical style and goals.
