Jeff Becerra: Next Possessed Album Will Be Intense

In a new interview with Alex Stojanovic of MetalMasterKingdom.com, Possessed frontman Jeff Becerra offered exciting updates on the band’s follow-up to 2019’s “Revelations Of Oblivion.”

Darkness with Dynamic Tempo Shifts:
Becerra revealed that only two songs remain unfinished. He described the new material as “very different, very cool, very heavy,” with a focus on tempo changes that keeps things interesting: “It’s cool. You don’t have to grit your teeth to get through the whole thing.”

Staying True, Reaching New Depths:
Becerra emphasized Possessed’s unwavering commitment to their sound: “We will never sell out. I’d rather die.” However, the new album promises to be one of their darkest ventures yet.

Collaborative Spirit:
Becerra shed light on the band’s songwriting process. While he typically contributes the majority of riffs, he highlighted the increasing contributions of guitarist Claudeous Creamer and bassist Robert Cardenas. “This version of Possessed has been around more than three times as long as the first one,” he explained. “We work well together. We’re all super picky about what we do.”

Release on the Horizon:
Becerra expressed his desire to release the new album within the next year, possibly sooner. He also revealed a three-album deal with Nuclear Blast, praising the label’s understanding and support.
