British grindcore legends Napalm Death were forced to perform without vocalist Mark “Barney” Greenway at the México Metal Fest VIII in Monterrey, Mexico, on Saturday, October 12th.
Greenway took to social media to apologize for his absence, explaining that he fell ill unexpectedly and was unable to make it to the venue. “I feel really embarrassed and frustrated for having to miss any gig,” he wrote.
The band’s remaining members persevered and delivered a powerful performance despite the unfortunate circumstances.
“Hello all, just a quick note to say sorry for not being able to make the gig in Monterrey last night. I became ill really quickly where I was staying, and I couldn’t even have managed to make the journey to the venue. I know the rest of “ND” gave it their best to make it happen, so thanks for your understanding. I feel really embarrassed and frustrated for having to miss any gig, so sorry once again. Love and peace.”
