Rob Halford: ‘We’re Not Just Reliving the Glory Days, Judas Priest Is Still a Force in Metal’

Judas Priest is undeniably a legendary band, showing no signs of slowing down, and even their new material continues to receive high praise. In a recent interview on Full Metal Jackie’s nationally syndicated radio show, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford was asked about what’s next for the band. He shared:

“It’s just this wonderful renaissance happening—not only for Priest but for metal as a whole, especially for the bands that were there from the beginning. Our good friends Saxon, who we recently toured with in Europe, and ourselves have been selling out venues across the continent. Fans are flocking not just because they already love the bands, but also because there are people who may have been on the outside looking in, now saying, ‘I’ve got to check this out. What’s going on? Why is there such a buzz around these bands?’ And we’re thriving on that energy.”

Halford continued: “We’re so grateful, honored, and humbled to still have this relevance after all these years. We’re not just living off past glories, though there’s nothing wrong with that. But for us, it’s always been about what we’re doing and saying right now. With our latest album Invincible Shield, we’re experiencing this incredible momentum that hasn’t slowed down. There’s still a tremendous amount of love and excitement for the album and for the band. So, we’re out there giving you everything—from the early days of Priest to where we are now with Invincible Shield—roaring full force.”
