U.D.O. Drummer Sven Dirkschneider Leaves North American Tour for Personal Reasons

Sven Dirkschneider, the 30-year-old son of legendary ACCEPT frontman Udo Dirkschneider and a member of Udo’s long-running band U.D.O., has had to leave the band’s ongoing North American tour to return to Germany for personal reasons. His drum tech, Matthias Kassner, will temporarily fill in.

On Wednesday, October 2nd, U.D.O. released a statement on social media: “While the remaining shows of our amazing US & Canada tour will continue as planned, Sven has unfortunately had to fly home due to personal reasons. He sends his sincere apologies to all the fans attending the shows. We will play all shows as scheduled, with Sven’s drum tech Matthias Kassner taking over drum duties. Please respect Sven’s privacy during this time. We made this decision to ensure the tour continues rather than cancel. Rock with us, because we can’t wait to see you all!”
